Professor Richard Wolff in his DVD Capitalism Hits The Fan is likely the best presentation of the financial crisis in a manner that the average American citizen can understand. As usual, it has not gotten near enough the exposure it is warranted. Many will oppose his exposé because he break the indoctrination of unfettered capitalism being the panacea that is preached by the Right.
The Right Wing echo chamber is buying time by creating many boogeymen, side issues, and bait and switch policies with the expectation that the citizens will conclude that the failures are caused by some left leaning president. Interesting enough our president has so far maintained most of the policies of unfettered capitalism that uncorrected will likely lead us down a path of further demise.
I know the president is an intelligent man. My hope is that in his base and his inability to convince the citizens of evil that the current system has brought, that he has backed off with the expectation of getting a second term that will free him to make the real changes. Absent that I fear as Americans continue to lose their wealth and income that just as in other countries with large disparities, unrests as in Greece will occur. We must remember however that our citizens are armed.
