Rick Santorum in an interview with CNS News said "The question is, and this is what Barack Obama didn’t want to answer — is that human life a person under the constitution? And Barack Obama says no. Well if that human life is not a person then I find it almost remarkable for a black man to say ‘now we are going to decide who are people and who are not people.”
I do not like Santorum at all. In fact I think Santorum along with the entire Right Wing have policies detrimental to humans already born. That said, even as a Black man I understood exactly what he was saying. In effect he mentioned a statement I utter about a large percentage of the black and Latino population who can tend to be relatively anti-gay. As being a population who knows discrimination, how can that population discriminate? I share that same concern with the Jewish treatment of the non-terrorist Palestinians.
In order for us to move forward as a country, it is essential that we can articulate without fear of being ostracized for our ignorance. That is the only way you learn and come together. Political correctness while changing the outward dialog does nothing to correct pre-conceived misconceptions.
Of more concern is how the policies of the Conservative Right Wing cult materially affects the middle class. Sometimes I believe these racial issues are planted to get the eyes of the middle class off the ball. Have us worry about our slight differences and the middle class pilfering goes unnoticed until it is irreversible. Can America be that gullible?
